Overview

East West Bank is currently seeking a Business Development Officer. The Business Development Officer strategically collaborates with Commercial Lending Business Partners to execute sales strategies. Through robust external sales plans, the BDO is expected to expand customer base, to grow assets, loans and deposits, and to increase profitability by leveraging East West Bank’s products and services.  

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with RMs to develop and to implement customer centric strategic marketing plans and generating new business through cold calling, prospecting, networking, and referrals.
  • Achieves quarterly/annual goals through business generation of C&I, CRE, Multifamily, Mortgages, Treasury Management, Deposit, Investment, international and other commercial and consumer products offered through East West Bank.
  • Maintains and applies a thorough understanding of the bank’s credit policy, client eligibility and all necessary business practices to ensure the submission of accurate and complete commercial and consumer loan packages.
  • Assist RM and PM for financial spread and underwriting
  • Actively participates in local and regional business functions
  • Coordinates and assist RMs for new account opening through CAS Other Job Functions (duties that occur infrequently or on an inconsistent basis but are still important, e.g. specialized regulatory reports on an ad hoc basis)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 3 years of banking experience
  • 2 years of marketing or business development experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills
  • Each team member must have knowledge of BSA/AML/OFAC Laws/Regulations, understand how these obligations relate to his/her role, and comply with these laws and regulations

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $65,000.00/Yr. - USD $84,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
