We are currently seeking an Associate for our Commercial and Industrial Lending Team in New York City. The C&I Lending business spans a broad spectrum of commercial lending businesses including Core C&I Middle Market Lending, Specialty Finance, Project Finance and Healthcare Finance.  The Associate will work with the team’s Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers to perform due diligence, underwrite new credit facilities and to monitor and maintain the loan portfolio. Primary responsibilities include analyzing financial data to determine the merits of loan requests, recommending appropriate credit structures, and identifying cross selling/referral opportunities for other bank products and services.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Be able to assist Relationship Manager and Portfolio Manager in account opening with an aim to provide seamless client service experience and deepen the relationship.
    • Main contact person for depository relationships, including overseeing the implementation of Treasury management products
    • Identify new sales and service opportunities in supported relationships
    • Performs all duties of routine administrative upkeep of existing portfolios for Relationship Managers
    • Perform underwriting and credit analysis
    • Interact with all areas of the bank to accomplish the needs of clients and supporting multiple Relationship Managers
    • Understand bank's credit policy and procedures
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or concentration in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
    • Current college senior or recent graduate with 1 year experience in banking or financial industry, ideally with credit training or experience in financial modeling and analysis.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong writing skills are critical
    • Plenty of drive, initiative and motivation
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
    • Ability to work within set timelines while maintaining quality and attention to detail
    • Flexible and adaptable to a dynamic environment
