    East West Bank is looking for a Assistant Operations Officer. The Assistant Operations Officer will  report to the Head of Operations and supervises the department staff. Coordinates with the Head of Operations in implementing and carrying out Bank policy with respect to overall operations of the department.


    • Administers the day-to-day operation for the Specialty Deposit Clients (Escrow Title, Business Management/Entertainment, Reorganization Deposits, Non-Profit.)
    • Performs preliminary employment interviewing and recommends hiring of department staff.
    • Responsible for the morale, customer service, audits and procedures within areas supervised.
    • Understands and interprets banking regulations, policies and/or procedures.
    • Counsels, prepares performance appraisals and recommends promotions and re­assignments of department staff.
    • Demonstrates a high level of customer service and develops on-going working relationship with accountholders.
    • Organizes, plans and delegates work within the area supervised directly or indirectly.
    • Maintains control of work hours and overtime for department staff.
    • Reviews and approves weekly time sheets.
    • Provides staff training and development within the area supervised for department staff.
    • Exercises Official Signing Authority for the Bank and has uncollected funds credit authority.
    • Approves checks, internal entries and other items.
    • Prepares various letters and reports as required.
    • Participates in business development activities.


    • High degree of daily contact with the accountholders, Senior Management and the Relationship Officers
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one, in a small group situation to customers, or any other employees of the bank
    • Position requires a thorough knowledge of bank operations, procedures and policy. An applicant will have demonstrated leadership qualities including; maturity, empathy, consistent positive behavior, a propensity for knowledge, the ability to make decisions, high self-motivation, and good oral and written communication skills. Additionally, the applicant will have a basic knowledge of electronic funds transfer, IBS, and Argo

    • working knowledge of Word and Excel, and prior knowledge of wire processing with Payplus or FedLine
    • College degree preferred, however prior job experience with exposure to all aspects of a Back Office customer service environment and the successful completion of in-bank or outside classes in supervision, management and general banking subjects may qualify an applicant.
    • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. The ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
