    East West Bank is looking for a Risk Manager in our Asset Based Lending Department. The ABL Risk Manager will report to the SVP/Manager of Asset Based Lending. The risk manager will be responsible for managing the portfolio of lenders and working with external and internal clients to support the business.


    • Manage borrowers directly or indirectly by supporting and interact with the Line, ABL Department Manager and Credit Supervisors

    • Supplementary to Credit Supervisors' own reviews of ABL borrowers' financial statements, collateral exams, appraisals, borrowing base certificates and trend cards, identify issues from the additional review process and report to ABL Department Manager and Credit Supervisors

    • Provide counsel to the Line and Credit Supervisors on new ABL opportunities by reviewing CCM's and CCR's when requested

    • Provide counsel to and recommend action plans for the Line and Credit Supervisors as needed on existing Special Mention and Substandard risk rated ABL credits as well as those which are put on the Watch List by Credit Supervisors

    • Provide counsel to Credit Supervisors on non-ABL credits that are required by Credit Supervisors to be monitored by ABLD based on collateral reports provided by the non-ABL borrowers on a monthly or quarterly basis. Identify issues from the additional review of the mock BBR's and trend cards and report to ABL Department Manager and Credit Supervisors

    • Formulate and recommend workout strategies for the Line, ABL Department Manager and Credit Supervisors for ABL borrowers. Manage various stakeholders through the workout process and convey strategies on a timely basis

    • Complete monitoring reports, share the latest developments, and formulate action plans

    • Conduct webinars to provide the Line and Credit Supervisors with the recommended ABL related practices as well as the latest observations in the managing certain challenging ABL credits

    • Take on projects to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the ABL Department

    • Review and assure the quality and accuracy of various reports analyses, including but not limited to the BBR's and Trend Cards, compiled by ABL Collateral Analysts

    • Provide guidance and necessary trainings to ABL Collateral Analysts

    • Represent the Bank at industry functions to promote the Bank's products and services when applicable

    • Provide a culture which facilitates an environment of encouragement, creative problem resolution, trust, and openness to create an effective, efficient and reliable ABL Department


    • 7+ years of Asset Based Lending experience

    • 5-7+ years of direct ABL portfolio management experience

    • Has comprehensive experience in dealing with a wide array of borrowers under different credit structures

    • Experience in the structuring, management and work-out of ABL credits

    • Experience in conducting collateral exams preferred
