East West Bank’s Structured Finance Group provides the extensive resources and products of a large global institution, with the high-level of personal attention of a local bank.  The group leverages the assets of non-bank financial institutions, consumer/commercial loan originators, private equity sponsors, and alternative fund managers to maximize their growth and profit potential, and customize solutions for their financial and regulatory challenges.    This Credit Officer position is based in New York and will report directly to the Deputy Chief Credit Officer (DCCO).  It represents a superb opportunity for the right candidate to put their credit skills and expertise to work in a dynamic and highly visible environment supporting two of the most prominent business groups in the Bank.  As a Credit Officer you will be responsible for providing direct support to the DCCO for East West Bank’s Commercial & Industrial (C&I) loan portfolio, specifically the Structured Finance and Private Equity portfolios.  You will assist the DCCO with: the analysis of new transactions; the renewal and modification of existing transactions; financial data analysis; cash flow modeling and scenario analysis; legal documentation review; and the monitoring and surveillance of the structured finance and private equity portfolios.  You’ll also assist the DCCO with credit policy documentation and other ad-hoc research projects as needed, to support the continued expansion of East West Bank’s Structured Finance and Private Equity businesses. 

The Sr Underwriting Portfolio Manager is responsible for underwriting, credit monitoring and portfolio management of C&I Commercial Banking relationships sourced by East West’s Bank’s Midwest Regional Team. Primary responsibilities include underwriting all new credit requests, financial statement analysis, and financial data to determine the merits of loan requests, recommending structure, as well as identifying cross selling/referring opportunities of other services.

The Loan Servicing Specialist IV is responsible for the more complex activities within Loan Servicing with all related research and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.  The position may be responsible for Loan Sales/Purchases and its Investor Reporting.  The position may include responsibilities for the troubled debt transaction processing including restructuring, charge-off, non-accrual and shadow accounting.  Responsibilities include research and monitoring in any of the activities relating to Loan Servicing such as; Tickler Monitoring, Credit Bureau reporting and disputes, loan restructuring, IRS reporting, etc.

The Loan Administrator Team Lead is responsible for providing guidance and technical support to Loan Closing Administrators and Associates, performing syndicated and complex commercial loan closing activities. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of loan syndications, complex and specialized commercial lending products, regulatory requirements, credit policy, collateral, insurance, and loan servicing requirements.

The Loan Operations Quality Control Manager is responsible for the day to day management of a Loan Operations Quality Control Unit.  The Unit’s functional responsibilities include but are not limited to, callbacks and quality reviews of post-closing loan data and monetary transactions for Commercial & Industrial, Specialized Lending, and Commercial Real Estate loans booked on the FIS loan system to ensure data accuracy, compliance with government requirements, federal and state laws and regulations, risk mitigation and company policies and procedures.  Responsibilities include the identification of risk, proposing and implementing quality control process improvements thereof, and directing the performance Quality Control reviews through the use of ad hoc and system reports in order to ensure overall accuracy and completeness of the loan data.  Responsibilities also include the training and oversight of Quality Control Unit associates.

Every year, East West Bank looks to hire junior/senior level undergraduate and graduate students for our summer internship program, starting in May and running through mid-August. All internships are full-time, paid opportunities.
