    We are currently seeking a Senior Accounting Manager. The Senior Accounting Manger will support the Deputy Controller in meeting the objectives and goals of the Accounting Department.  Manage the daily operations of the Accounting Department.  Manage the month-end closing and the general ledger reconciliation process.


    As a valuable East West Bank team member, your duties (not limited to) will include:


    • Identify and implement various process improvement projects in operations to support the Bank’s growth.
    • Supervise, assist, train and mentor accounting staff to perform their jobs and responsibilities to meet the objectives and goals of the Accounting Department.  Ensure accountability of the accounting teams.  Develop and implement programs to support staff’s career advancement.
    • Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the accounting teams through direct interface with other departments, divisional and senior financial management.
    • Manage and coordinate the month end close process, including the reconciliation and certification of general account balances.
    • Review and analyze the Bank’s financial statement including fluctuation analyses of the general account balances.
    • Establish and maintain relevant accounting policy and procedures.  Ensure the accounting teams’ compliance to them and other bank-wide applicable policies and procedures.
    • Research and resolve system related issues through working with internal departments including operations and IT, and vendors.
    • Research and evaluate accounting transactions and new accounting pronouncements, and application of those impacting financial institutions.
    • Review various internal reporting packages and external regulatory and SEC filings.
    • Coordinate interim and annual audits with internal and external auditors.
    • Perform accounting operations related ad-hoc analyses and projects, including system upgrade and implementation as needed.


    • Banking/financial institution industry experience required
    • At least 10-15 years of public and private accounting experience
    • CPA license preferred
    • Public accounting experience preferred
    • Public company accounting experience preferred
    • Experience with core banking systems in relation to general ledger posting preferred
    • Solid knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and concepts
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills
    • Demonstrated strong attention to detail and accuracy
    • Demonstrated managerial and supervisory experience
    • Professional attitude and demeanor and the ability to exercise good judgment
    • Strong Excel skills preferred




    Will supervise one or more accounting staff.  Responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned employees.


    Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.




    Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university




    Strong verbal and written communication skill. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
