    We are currently seeking a International Operations Supervisor. The International Operations Supervisor will report to the International Operations Manager. The International Operations Supervisor will be Responsible for managing the effective and efficient operation of the Standby Letters of Credit and when required, Commercial LC units; Structuring (drafting) and verifying complex Standby Letters of Credit and Bank Guarantees as well as Documentary Letter of Credit and/or other Trade products & services, when required; Ensure the SBLC team is in adherence with the applicable US laws and regulations as well as with all applicable EWB policies, programs and procedures to protect the asset quality of the organization.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide advice and direction on operational aspects of Trade Finance not only to the SBLC team but to various internal stakeholders / departments and EWB branches; Resolve complex and escalated issues referred over by staff and other areas of the bank regarding Trade Services. Manage the Standby Letters of Credit team to ensure delivery of excellent client-centric customer service while maintaining quality control of products and services being offered/delivered.
    • Support the development and implementation of new and improved Trade solutions, products and services in order to maintain EWB competitiveness in the Trade Finance industry.
    • Serve as a technical advisor regarding trade finance services operations throughout the organization; Deliver internal and external training, as needed.
    • Develop and maintain robust departmental policies and operating procedures in order to insure compliance with all internal BSA requirements - Anti-Boycott/OFAC/AML, etc.; Closely collaborate with internal stakeholders / business partners and the appropriate external parties to ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements, government rules, contractual obligations as well as with internal EWB policies, programs and procedures.
    • Maintain updated knowledge of all laws, regulations, developments and trends in the Trade Services industry and ensure that staff is kept informed and properly trained; Continually look to identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department; Manage the implementation of viable improvements.
    • Assist Int’l Operations Managers on implementing Operational Excellence initiatives, including but not limited to hosting monthly OE meetings, driving changes for accuracy and efficiency improvements; Develop and implement effective performance measures and tracking methods;
    • Exercise the authority of a manager concerning performance reviews, improvement plans, when required, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations, when/if appropriate; Develop / train, coach, and motivate staff to maximize their potential.
    • Back-up other Trade Supervisors / Managers within Trade Services, when/if required.

    Qualifications

    • College degree or equivalent preferred;
    • 10 years supervisory / management experience in related Trade field is required;
    • Expertise in structuring complex Trade Transactions, including Standby Letter of Credits & Guarantees;
    • Good working knowledge of Trade Rules & Regulations: UCP600, ISP98, URDG, URC522, etc.;
    • Ability to evaluate, analyze and quantify the impact of the issues involved; Demonstrated ability to evaluate opportunities for process improvements and to develop & implement effective client-centric solutions;
    • Ability to handle escalated situations using great interpersonal, negotiating and problem solving skills;
    • Ability to pay attention to details and follow through;
    • Proficient written, verbal and presentation skills are required in order to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal stakeholders as well as with EWB existing and prospective clients;
    • Excellent PC skills, including the full familiarity with MS Office suite, effective use of internet, etc.
