    This position will be an Operations Risk Manager within the Mortgage department. The Operations Risk Manager oversees all regulatory compliance activities for residential mortgage lending and will work closely with the Corporate Compliance and Internal Audit departments.

    Responsibilities

    Tour duties (not limited to) will include:

     

    • Coordinate with various business units, senior management, compliance, and internal audit department personnel regarding new and revised legislations and regulations and revisions and new additions to policies, procedures and products
    • Oversee the daily operations for the mortgage compliance and business analyst team
    • Manage and respond to internal and external audits which includes facilitating state or federal regulatory examinations and be one of the liaisons between examiners and senior management 
    • Maintain, review and update all compliance and regulatory policies and procedures for the mortgage division and draft new policies and procedures as needed.
    • Monitor and conduct routine internal compliance reviews and discuss findings with senior management 
    • Develop a comprehensive compliance training program and provide ongoing training to all employees 
    • Responsible for HMDA reporting including scrubbing data monthly for annual reporting 
    • Review forms, disclosures, and other documents to validate information and ensure compliance  with applicable laws and regulations.
    • Support day-to-day business operations that are impacted or driven by regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare written reports of compliance review results
    • Help direct and implement expansion and enhancements to current processes, practices, forms, and documentation 
    • Assist in the development and updates/enhancements to applicable systems, policies, and procedures
    • Assist in development of issue, risk, and corrective action tracking and escalation processes
    • Support the execution of risk assessment activities or response to regulatory changes or activities and overall support of the mortgage lending program, policy, and procedures development and enhancements

    Qualifications

    To be considered, we are seeking the following:

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Audit, underwriting, and/or secondary market experience desired
    • Strong working knowledge of consumer and mortgage lending regulations
    • Capacity to work independently and as a team member while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving.
    • Ability to think creatively and innovate.
    • Ability to communicate effectively.
    • Dependable and works well under pressure
    • Ability to lead, inspire, and build trust.
    • Current/recent experience working with TRID 
    • Current/recent residential lending mortgage compliance experience including working knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations (HMDA, TILA, RESPA, ECOA, etc.) preferred
    • Ability to identify and solve problems or issues.
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication skills, and presentation skills
    • Must be detail oriented, a self-starter, and have the ability to work with limited supervision
    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
