    The Risk Management Officer is responsible for the design, implementation, and on-going updates to the Bank’s loan and mortgage servicing to be compliant with all regulatory requirements. The Risk Management Officer must stay current with all applicable regulatory changes and internal policy updates to ensure the loan operations is and continues to operate in a compliant manner with all such requirements. The officer will work closely with the Loan and Mortgage Operations leadership teams and regularly interact with the Bank’s corporate compliance team. The position will also have responsibility for acting as the business representative for all internal and external Compliance loan and mortgage-related audits and oversight to any remediation.

     

    As a valuable East West Bank team member, your duties (not limited to) will include:

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure that the loan and mortgage servicing process complies with all federal, state, local laws and internal Bank policies
    • Perform Quality Assurance reviews on all regulatory processes including Flood Insurance Monitoring
    • Implement necessary changes within the loan servicing and mortgage process and applicable policies due to changes in lending requirements or recommendations by CFPB, FRB and other regulatory agencies
    • Ensure loan servicing and mortgage process is compliant with various requirements, including ECOA, RESPA, TILA,       HMDA, Escrow, USAP, ARM, TRID.
    • Work to remediate any self-identified noncompliant processes or areas of concern identified by internal audit or a regulator
    • Develop and update procedures
    • Research compliance related topics
    • Support QC manager in testing of compliance related items
    • Provide updates and training to the staff on new and upcoming regulation changes
    • Serve as business liaison for all loan servicing and mortgage related audits and own any resulting action items

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics preferred.
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in the loan servicing and/or mortgage industry
    • Minimum 5 years in a compliance or audit within the loan and mortgage servicing business
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Effective leader with strong project management skills
    • Ability to design and implement new processes
    • Proficient with Microsoft suite of office products, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint & Visio
    • Firm understanding of current residential mortgage servicing requirements
    • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
    • Preferred experience with Flood insurance monitoring and Flood Insurance regulations

    • Prior experience dealing with regulators (preferred)
