    East West Bank is seeking a Data Architect. This position designs and constructs East West Bank enterprise-wide data and information architecture to support business intelligence and data warehouse efforts. He/She is responsible for determining platforms and correct functioning for the central data warehouse. The successful candidate needs to architect solutions that process large amounts of information to draw conclusions based on their intelligence findings, interacts with a variety of business professionals, and communicates critical project requirements.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop a practical roadmap for an enterprise-wide BI reporting and analytics platform
    • Build custom data-driven frameworks and solutions, and leverage off-the-shelf data products and tools.
    • Define the overall BI data architecture, including ETL processes, ODS, EDW, data marts and data lakes
    • Recommend appropriate technologies to support the implementation of the BI roadmap.
    • Provide BI technical and architectural guidance to projects and teams, ensuring that new initiatives enable effective data reporting.
    • Develop and interpret key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of data management processes
    • Collaborate with key business users to identify needs and opportunities for improved data management and delivery.
    • Perform development and maintenance work on data models, data dictionaries or other artifacts to maintain currency with corporate standards, integration with Enterprise Data Architecture
    • Ensure that all artifacts be developed according to industry standards and procedures
    • Provide work direction and guidance to other BI members on the team

    Qualifications

    • 8+ years of experience as solid BI data modeler/architect, including experience in building and maintaining data-intensive systems and data warehouses using advanced SQL or ELT/ETL tools (including SSIS, Talend, Pentaho), OLTP, OLAP, and MDM, dimensional data modeling.
    • Broad understanding and experience of data modeling, data management, ETL and BI
    • In depth knowledge on SQL server internals
    • Solid T-SQL knowledge SQL query development using MS SQL 2008 and 2012
    • Strong experience in data warehousing design
    • Solid understanding of ETL architectures
    • Must have developed and enforced data standards in a previous experience. Should have strong writing skills to prepare metadata and data dictionary and publish for the firm’s use
    • Demonstrates analytical and problem solving skills, particularly as it relates to data modeling and enterprise data architecture
    • Ability to quickly learn and comprehend existing complex system infrastructures
    • Ability to resolve design challenges, architectural issues and design conflicts
    • Good business understanding and ability to convert complex business needs into efficient and accurate queries
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
    • Must enjoy working in a fast-paced teamwork environment and dealing with a variety of people

    Preferred

    • Experience in cloud computing and big data analytics
      1. AWS, MS Azure, Eucalptus, Opennebula, Cloudstack and Openstack
      2. Hadoop
      3. MapReduce model
      4. Google File System
    • Experience in Predictive, Prescription, and Descriptive Analytics
    • Significant experience and knowledge of BI tools (such as, Tableau, MS Power BI, R programming)
    • Technical skills:
      1. C#, VB.NET, Power Shell scripting
