    As East West Bank expands to meet the needs of a broader base of consumers, we’re focused on going deep to rethink every element of the Digital Banking experience specifically tailored to our unique customer needs. To that end, we are launching a new digital banking business under a new brand name. For the Digital Bank, we are seeking a senior Product Manager for Lending Products including but are not limited to Credit Card, Unsecured Lending, Auto Financing, etc. (this person will help define the actual product roadmap and product portfolio). The ideal candidate has successfully launched lending programs and managed P&L, developed and executed credit risk and underwriting risk strategy, as well as managed fraud and operational losses.


    As a Product Manager – Digital Credit, you will be responsible for product development, digital underwriting, pricing and product profitability and customer acquisition, and accountable for the associated metrics related to customer acquisition, loan book growth, income, losses and profitability. Your duties (not limited to) will include:


    • Building the digital credit business including defining the strategy and roadmap, creating a business case, gaining alignment with the Digital Bank’s leadership and the Bank’s overall leadership
    • Leading product development and design, including credit policy, pricing, promotions and partnerships. This will include all phases of product development including research and planning, implementation, testing, execution, reporting, and monitoring. You will need to identify and address legal, technical, operational, marketing, compliance, or other related requirements.
    • Developing and executing customer acquisition strategies, campaigns and partnerships. E.g. develop strategic promotional programs to increase credit card penetration and usage that deliver the highest value to cardholders while maximizing program returns.
    • Developing and executing credit risk and underwriting risk strategy all while managing within the Bank’s credit risk appetite.
    • Working with the product engineering team to build digital capabilities, including underwriting and servicing, and design a differentiated customer experience
    • Building a high-performing team and a culture of compliance and excellence.
    • Driving constant innovation on all aspects of the product and customer acquisition to enable profitable growth and leadership.
    • Partnering with senior leaders of Digital Banking and inspiring your cross-functional peers in order to build a strong partnership in delivering excellent products and services. Also building strong relationships and partnering with the Bank’s risk, credit and other functional organizations.
    • Managing the business in a metrics driven, effective and efficient way


    To be considered, we are seeking the following:


    • Deep knowledge of Consumer/retail credit products and platforms as well as prior retail or Consumer Banking experience that includes lending products.
    • Knowledge of full suite of lending products including credit cards, unsecured personal loans, auto, students, etc. with direct experience in different lending products
    • Proven managerial capabilities and quantitative skills with experience in holistic P&L management
    • Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance and its implications. Detailed credit card regulation knowledge is a plus
    • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent consumer facing products that were commercially successful; ability to develop differentiated products that uniquely serve target customers
    • Ability to influence external customers and internal business partners, at all levels, and drive towards results, without direct management authority
    • Can work well with diverse teams, partnering across the organization to navigate an ambiguous and quickly changing environment
