    East West Bank is seeking a Loan Servicing Specialist for our Mortgage Loan Servicing Cash Department.

     

    This position is responsible for processing and posting monthly mortgage loan payments/transactions according to departmental procedures, ensuring the level of service on all EWB loans meet company guidelines and state/federal regulations.

    Responsibilities

    • Process borrowers’ monthly mortgage payments, including checks, branch payments, manual drafts, phone payments, and wires according to established department procedures while maintaining and delivering a high level of productivity, efficiency, and accuracy
    • Research exception or rejected payments
    • Perform posting reversals resulting from returned payments
    • Research payment application inquiries and correct payment postings, as necessary
    • Document and activities as necessary in the loan servicing system
    • Coordinate and open incoming mail
    • Reconcile and record all incoming checks and prepare daily deposits
    • Generate/Issue system and cashier’s checks pertaining, but not limited to payoff refunds, tax disbursements, and vendor payments
    • Reconciliation of debits and credits, general ledger, and call back of daily work
    • Provide support and assistance to other Loan Servicing staff and internal customers
    • Assists in special projects and other job duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • 5 Years of functional/professional experience
    • Each team member must have knowledge of BSA/AML/OFAC Laws/Regulations, understand how these obligations relate to his/her role, and comply with these laws and regulations
    • Experience with LPS (Blacknight), FIS (Metavante) and Encompass preferred
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
    • Familiarity with Mortgage Loan Documents
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Good organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail
    • Ability to organize and maintain a high volume work environment
    • Ability to adapt quickly to changes and perform in a fast paced environment
    • Ability to build effective relationships as needed to effectively address issues and obstacles
    • Maintain excellent levels of performance on service level agreements while ensuring compliance with State/Federal Regulations, department requirements, and operational procedures.
