    We are currently seeking a Global Payments Senior Product Manager. The Global Payments Product Manager manages and is responsible for a broad suite of commercial products that support Global Transaction Services (GTS). The Product Manager will develop and implement products and services related to the bank's payments cross-border strategies and lead key initiatives that will contribute to the bank's competitive edge in the marketplace. This person will have the opportunity to work with customers, sales, front line, finance, marketing correspondent banks, vendors, and the leadership team to understand the market, identify gaps in the current offering, define product requirements, optimize the portfolio, and execute the bank's strategic direction.

     

    Description:

    Drive product leadership for the definition of the bank's cross border payments solutions / platforms while ensuring these solutions provide for interoperability across the bank's U.S. Hong Kong and China markets. Evaluate/validate new solutions to solve customer cross border pain points. Identify and execute new and innovative cross border product solutions that enable the bank to leverage new technologies to give our U.S. business customers doing business in Greater China and vice versa the solutions to easily transact and manage their banking needs.

    Act as the champion for the bank's cross-border transaction banking suite, driving the strategic development and implementation of international payments, liquidity, risk management, and input into the cross border aspects of the online banking for US, Hong Kong, and China. Identify opportunities to improve customer experience, improve profitability, and mitigate risk by evaluating and implementing products and services. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of industry, regional, and technology trends, risks, and opportunities.
    As a valuable East West Bank team member, your duties (not limited to) will include:

    • Strong cross border payments expertise (including mobile, mobile wallet and ecommerce payments in general)
    • Experience working with global and domestic partners in the payments space, with a focus in greater China (e.g. Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Real-time gross settlement (CHATS), etc.)
    • Experience in FX services, SWIFT, ACH systems especially with a bank is essential
    • Strong knowledge and understanding local payments standards including regulatory/compliance requirements (e.g. AML, KYC)
    • Knowledge and understanding of financial settlement processes and operational processes for faster payments (e.g. real time settlement)
    • Understanding for cross-border payment solutions enabling B2B, B2C and P2P
    • Maintain an awareness of major industry trends, specifically to U.S., Hong Kong and China and evaluate new product ideas and product enhancement opportunities
    • Support the FinTech transformation by exploring the use of innovative and cost-effective solutions to help develop new cross border payment product solutions that include mobile, APIs, and other leading/innovative technologies
    • Seek opportunities to improve customers experience in all aspects of Global Transaction Banking, while mitigating risks, reducing costs, improving efficiency, and increasing revenue.
    • Advise management of potential new product capabilities through the preparation of strategy presentations, which define product design, profitability, alternative systems, operating expenditures and capitalization
    • Develop and issue Requests for Proposal (RFPs) to software and service providers
    • Manage vendor evaluations and selection and complete vendor onboarding steps, as needed, to engage selected vendors
    • Maintain relationships with Hong Kong and China partners to support product capabilities and rollout success
    • Actively ensure compliance with the Bank's Business Standards of Conduct, Policies and Procedures
    • Responsible for managing Cross Border Payments P&L for Global Transaction Services
    • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications/Requirements: 

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent to 10+ years comparable level and relevant experience
    • Thorough knowledge of Treasury Management product lines, payments, digital channels, operations, and services; strong knowledge of banking in general
    • A deep understanding of the business applicability of U.S., Hong Kong and China needs including emerging new FinTech solutions and technologies.
    • Business experience in applying products in Hong Kong and China to solve Treasury Management customer pain points and/or enable the Bank to gain a significant competitive advantage
    • Project management and professional interpersonal skills are essential
    • Capable of managing multiple complex problems and business line initiatives.
    • Outstanding communications skills: ability to make presentations to all levels of bank management
    • Excellent verbal and written skills required
    • Extremely effective at collaboration and leveraging resources
    • The ability to engage internal/external partners and leverage their knowledge and skills
