    We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Manager. The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is responsible for the design, implementation, and on-going performance of the Quality Assurance Program also known as Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA). The QA Manager and QA team’s primary responsibilities include 1) periodic reviews of the risk assessments of the loan operational processes, 2) conducting control effectiveness tests, 3) identify and monitoring the KPIs and KRIs, 4) analyzing root causes on failed controls, and providing recommendations on solutions to cure, 5) research and report to manager on emerging operational risks with recommendation on actions for Loan Ops readiness. The manager will need to stay current on all applicable laws, regulatory changes and internal policy updates to ensure the Loan Operations is and continues to operate in a compliant manner with all such requirements.   The manager will work closely with the rest of Loan Operations leadership team and interact with the Bank’s Corporate ERM team, Compliance team, Legal team, Financial Reporting team and Credit Supervision. This position will also have responsibility for Process Improvement recommendations.

    As a valuable East West Bank team member, your duties (not limited to) will include:

    • Establish, enhance, and maintain Loan Operations Process Risk Assessment models
    • Design and implement Loan Operations QA/SCRA program and testing plans, including test frequency, scope, sampling methodologies, work paper templates, and reports
    • Oversee and perform tests on control effectiveness and accuracy based on regulatory requirements, SOX narratives, and internal policies and procedures
    • Report testing results with root cause analysis as well as trend analysis
    • Recommend process improvement resolutions for better risk control, operational efficiency, and customer service
    • Monitor the status of implementations of changes or action plans on findings by Regulators, Internal Audit, Compliance Monitoring, and QA tests
    • Identify KPIs and KRIs, establish thresholds, monitor the actual results, and report to Loan Operations Risk Oversight Committee
    • Research compliance related topics, and monitor business unit’s implementation and action plans
    • Research and provide to management on emerging operational risks with recommendations for readiness


    • Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in RCSA/QA, compliance, audit, or related banking experience
    • Commercial and Mortgage loan operations experiences preferred
    • Minimum 3 years management experience
    • Strong analytical and technical writing skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to design and implement risk controls
    • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
    • Firm understanding of best practices in Commercial and Mortgage Loan Operations
    • Advanced experience with Microsoft suite of office products, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint & Visio
    • FIS and LPS system knowledge preferred
