Overview

The Loan Servicing Team Lead is responsible for the more complex activities within Loan Servicing with all related research and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This position has responsibilities to provide guidance and direct workflow for Loan Servicing activities as well as coverage during peak volume and staff coverage. The position includes responsibilities for the training of Loan Servicing Specialist and includes research and monitoring in any of the activities relating to Loan Servicing. The Team Lead will back up the supervisor/manager as needed and provide quality control review.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily tasks are assigned and ensure timely completion by the team.
  • Serve as subject matter expert within Loan Servicing - Special Research team and provide support across Loan Servicing Department.
  • Manage and review complex loan servicing inquiries from internal and external customers, assist Supervisor and/or Unit Manager in ensuring all research requests are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Review and process charge-off transactions and related accounting entries and reconcile related GL accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Provide support and assist the Supervisor and/or Unit Manager with training and development plans.
  • Assist Supervisor and/or Unit Manager in reviewing, updating, and developing procedures to support new processes, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen operational controls.
  • Review and process QC reports, including tickler maintenance and loan system updates.
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) related to system enhancements, new products and process changes.
  • Participate in special projects assigned by management related to operations, data quality, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with Bank policies and procedures.
  • Serve as backup to the Supervisor and/or Unit Manager during absences, peak time, staffing shortages, and business continuity events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance or Accounting Degree preferred, or equivalent work-related experience
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the Loan Servicing Industry
  • Knowledge of BSA/AML/OFAC Laws/Regulations, understand how these obligations relate to his/her role, and comply with these laws and regulations
  • Loan system experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Good organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good leadership skills and ability to lead a team of 3 to 4 staff members
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to organize and maintain a high-volume work environment
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes and perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to build effective relationships as needed to effectively address issues and obstacles

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $30.00/Hr. - USD $40.00/Hr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
