Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic Operations Accounting team. This role requires a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can work independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Accountant will collaborate with various business units, support internal and external audits, assist with regulatory reporting requirements, and contribute to process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and control.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly operational accounting activities, including but not limited to account reconciliations, accruals, reclassifications, cost allocations, and other assigned accounting tasks within the required time frame.
  • Participate in the month-end and quarter-end close process, including but not limited to variance analysis, processing journal entries, reconciliation and certification of general ledger accounts and DDA balances.
  • Provide assistance in the preparation of banking regulatory reports and fulfill financial reporting requests.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Research and resolve reconciling items, discrepancies, and out-of-balance conditions; escalate issues in a timely manner when necessary.
  • Demonstrate due diligence and the ability to communicate effectively within the organization, with various branches and with external parties.
  • Serve as a backup and provide assistance to team members as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and concepts.
  • Bachelor's degree (accounting or finance degree preferred).
  • Minimum 1-2 years of accounting experience; banking, financial services, or mid-to-large organization experience preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, NetSuite) and data automation tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power Query, Python) are a plus.
  • Strong analytical, technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well independently as well as in a team with proper training.

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $75,000.00/Yr. - USD $95,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
