Overview

The Loan Administrator II is responsible for performing due diligence tasks related to loan documentation and closing; including the review and analysis of loan structures on Specialty Lending Products such as; Private Equity, Energy Lending, Entertainment Lending, etc. and non-EWB Lead Syndication.  This position is responsible for the pre-closing review of the loans and properly executed Legal Consistency Letter.   This role includes the preparation of the boarding data for accurate booking and assignment of codes and tracking of the post closing exception items.  The Loan Administrator II will further work with Outside Counsel, lending staff, credit supervision, and compliance, to ensure compliance with all applicable policies and procedures in support of Loan Closing.  This role may be responsible for on going maintenance of portfolio management and the financial activities on Specialty Products. 

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed due diligence of the loan documents ensuring all Closing Requirements have been met and proper borrowing resolutions have been obtained
  • Review Outside Counsel Consistency Letter ensuring there are no exceptions and/or outstanding items to be resolved prior to closing
  • Review Post Closing requirements and ensure proper tracking and follow up to resolve
  • Perform due diligence of Flood Requirements
  • Act as liaison between Escrow, Title, Attorneys and all interested parties to coordinate funding and closing of Specialty Lending loans and Syndicated Credit for EWB lead.
  • Review collateral support documents to ensure appropriate collateralization and proper lien position pursuant to credit approval.
  • Review CCR to determine appropriate credit approval and completed presentation to close the loan
  • Review and ensure all regulatory and policy compliance issues are satisfied prior to  loan documentation and closing.
  • Recognize and discuss loan transactions with lending staff and credit supervisor to resolve any outstanding issues prior to loan closing.
  • Act as a liaison between relationship managers, and all interested parties to coordinate funding and closing of loans for Specialty Products
  • Review all Credit Lending conditions have been met prior to closing
  • Perform pre-Closing review of Loan Documents post execution
  • Prepare closing documents including but not limited to; Boarding Data Sheet ensuring data accuracy and proper assignment of codes and post closing requirement
  • May perfect all Collateral including but not limited to Commercial Real Estate, Equipment, Blanket Liens, etc.   
  • May prepare Lender’s Instructions and work closely with Title Companies
  • Provide support and back up to the Loan Administration Associate and Senior Loan Servicing specialist relative to management of the C & I portfolio.
  • May Prepare wire instructions
  • May process Advances, paydowns and LIBOR rollover on C & I portfolio
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to other Loan Administrator and Associates
  • May assist in creating/establishing procedures in support of the loan Administration Team
  • Support other projects as assigned by the Manager
  • Respond to all internal and external customer inquiries
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience as a loan administrator or commercial loan documenter
  • Knowledge of all aspects of loan documentation specifically those prepared by Attorneys
  • Knowledge of all Loan Closing requirements and its collateral perfection
  • Good knowledge of entity documents and borrowing authorizations
  • Commercial Loan accounting experience required with FIS preferred
  • Broad knowledgeable with real estate title work required
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to multi-task, adapt quickly to changes and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a self-starter and possess positive attitude with good organizational skills
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft software, inclusive of Word and Excel
  • Document Imaging system experience required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Good organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
