Overview

Responsible for supporting frontline Teams in exceeding their goals, the New Accounts Associate partners closely with Relationship Managers, Account Officers, Product Managers, and Sales Consultants to deliver world-class customer service to high-net-worth commercial clients. The associate communicates regularly with clients and internal partners via phone, email, and in-person. Working collaboratively with Team Leaders, Relationship Managers, and internal business partners, the new accounts associate ensures client’s commercial and treasury management account expectations are met. The role is responsible for executing Deposit Account Control Agreements (DACA), managing the DACA and Controlled account process, maintaining and updating related procedures, and enhancing the coding and reporting of DACA and Controlled accounts. The associate coordinates DACA reviews with Legal to ensure compliance and accuracy. By leveraging strong leadership skills, the New Accounts Associate will ensure that peers have the tools, resources, and support needed to deliver an exceptional client experience.  

 

Job Mission:

  • Assist frontline associates with account opening for complex commercial verticals, including Private Equity, Entertainment Finance, Corporate Banking, Commercial & Industrial, Structure Finance, Asset Based Financing, Sponsor Finance, Technology, Media Markets, Property Management, and Capital Markets. Partner with Relationship Managers and other EWB professionals across other business segments to acquire, expand and retain targeted client relationships.
  • Work with GTP Management to produce and maintain presentations for:
    • External use with prospects, clients, service providers and at conferences
    • Internal use, for presentations to Senior Management, Peers Groups, and Regulators

Responsibilities

  • Review DACA and Control Account agreements and serves as a liaison between East West Bank Legal department, and Relationship Teams/clients.
  • Manage and maintain DACA and Controlled Account list, agreements, and policy & procedures
  • Works with complex commercial clients, in coordination with Relationship Managers, GTP Consultants, and back-office support staff to establish optimal operating account structures
  • Works with clients, Relationship Managers, and BSA/DCI/KYC Teams to obtain all required documentation needed to approve business clients for account opening at EWB
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of New Accounts processes and the documentation required to support each account request
  • Provides point-of-contact support for deposit-related and Treasury Management matters for commercial clients. Act as an expert advisor for the clients. Resolves client requests and/or issues independently
  • Creates compelling presentations to communicate key statistics and insights to GTP Management, EWB Senior Management, and federal and state regulators, etc.
  • Other duties assigned are based on business need(s).
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Paralegal licensing/certification preferred
  • 8 years of banking required.
  • 5 years of New Account opening required
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling numerical data, verbal instructions, and written information
  • Ability to review and redline contracts and agreements preferred.
  • Strongly preferred knowledge of BSA/AML/OFAC Laws/Regulations, including an understanding of how these obligations apply to the role, and a commitment to full compliance with all related laws and regulations
  • Familiar with the latest security controls offered by the Bank’s applications and able to clearly communicate these features to clients who utilize the Bank’s online banking systems
  • Possess through knowledge of niche markets such as Entertainment, Private Equity, Asset Based Lending, Capital Markets, Sponsor Finance, Property Management, and Treasury Management products, including associated setup worksheets, Legal agreements, and system requirements

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $20.00/Hr. - USD $41.00/Hr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
