Overview

The New Accounts Manager is responsible for the strategy, execution, and client delivery of the operations for the Global Treasury and Payments (GTP) New Accounts, and Insured Deposits Teams. Utilizing their leadership, excellent Judgment, and decision-making skills the New Accounts Manager will ensure the team has the tools, resources, and support to delight internal and external customers that operate in the commercial deposits and Treasury Management space. The New Accounts Manager will have oversight of the liquidity product operations supporting the banks Insured and Brokered Deposits. The manager will streamline processes, identify efficiencies, and continuously enhance department procedures, making sure products and services are established within published service levels. They will train and develop employees and refine the staff’s technical expertise with the growing complexity of the banks business customer base. The manager is also responsible for tracking and reporting GTP Client Delivery KPI’s and should be familiar with complex commercial customer structures and their documentation requirements for establishing deposit accounts. Focus on the EWB vision, GTP team goals, ensures a collaborative climate, setting priorities, demonstrating sufficient "know-how" and improves staff performance through feedback. Serve as subject matter expert on DACA’s, and entity documentation requirements. Develop a team of Project Delivery associates to deliver a best-in-class onboarding experience through continued leadership, and professional development. Job functions may vary, and other duties assigned based on business need.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manages the New Accounts team to provide a seamless account opening experience for our clients.
  • Monitor unit operations ensuring service level agreements are exceeded.
  • Comply with all bank policies and procedures, and regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Review DACA and Control account agreements, and act as a liaison between East West Bank legal department, and Relationship Teams/Customers.
  • Mange the bank’s liquidity product operations and Brokered Deposit set up function.
  • Process high risk interest payments and account set up of Insured Deposits.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of account opening documentation requirements for business clients.
  • Support the bank’s deposit growth objectives, manage existing department operations, and ensure adherence to bank policies, laws/regulations as applicable, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Identify the root cause of issues and service/product/process improvement opportunities.
  • Must lead people to perform, translate strategy into tactical action plans, recruit and grow talent.
  • Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the Bank's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees
  • Serve as subject matter expert on system capabilities, setup worksheets, and Bank agreements related to establishing GTP services.
  • Act as a Project Lead on department initiatives and technology updates, such as CRM, Microsoft Teams, Online Banking, etc.
  • Build a cohesive team of Project Delivery associates to quarterback seamless implementations leveraging the banks TRM model.
  • Coordinates the needs of the Project Delivery team for professional development, training, policies and procedures.
  • Must lead people to perform, translate strategy into tactical action plans, recruit and grow talent.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • 7 Years of Treasury Management or Commercial Banking Operations Experience
  • Effective Communication Skills
  • Strong Leadership Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred

  • 4 years of experience in a managerial role.
  • Must have knowledge of BSA/AML/OFAC Laws/Regulations, understand how these obligations relate to his/her role, and comply with these laws and regulations
  • Experience with DACA and Escrow Agreements
  • Experience leading transformation initiatives to improve Time to Revenue, KRI’s, Productivity, and/or Risk Mitigation

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $95,000.00/Yr. - USD $130,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
