Overview

East West Bank is seeking a Audit Manager. The Audit Manager will manage an audit team to ensure audit work is completed within department standards.  Oversee the development and execution of the Annual Audit Plan for the Bank areas assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the execution of audits for a specified area of the Bank.  Function as the Auditor-In-Charge of some audit projects.
  • Manage and train team of auditors in the execution of audit work related to the projects assigned, and preparing annual performance reviews and developing staff development plans.
  • Develop and maintain the Annual Audit Plan for a specified area of the Bank.  Schedule and staff all assigned audit projects, including obtaining outside resources when required
  • Manage the business relationship with management, including interactions with senior bank management, for areas assigned.  Lead audit exit meetings and other meetings with senior management to resolve differences in opinion.
  • Prepare audit reports and audit issues that appropriately address the risks and internal controls for all audits supervised.  Oversee the follow-up on resolution with business unit personnel on audit and regulatory issues.
  • Participate in various committees or task forces; and perform continuous monitoring and attend bank committee meetings of assigned to business areas to assess risk and make appropriate recommendations for adjustments to the Annual Audit Plan
  • Maintains an advanced level of knowledge of industry and regulatory developments within primary specialty areas assigned.
  • Respond to Bank examiners and Professional Practices regarding any inquiries regarding audit work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Each team member must have knowledge of BSA/AML/OFAC Laws/Regulations, understand how these obligations relate to his/her role, and comply with these laws and regulations
  • Ability to analyze a process and to identify key risks and assess controls as they relate to the achievement of the business unit strategic plans and regulatory expectations.
  • Ability to prepare and review audit reports to an end product stage and communicate professionally with area management.
  • Ability to develop and adjust Annual Audit Plan as appropriate, including identifying areas appropriate for coverage and areas appropriate for use of data analytics and integrated audits.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage auditors, including preparing professional development plans and performance reviews.
  • Ability to manage and develop a team of auditors assigned to area by providing timely and constructive performance feedback and help develop individual personal development plans for each auditor under supervision.
  • Assist with interviewing, hiring and on-boarding of new auditors; and complete performance evaluations.
  • Advanced level of business expertise in specialty areas assigned.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of recent audit results, industry developments, and changes in the Bank risk environment to make appropriate recommendations for Annual Audit Plan coverage.

  • Anticipate challenges in completing Annual Audit Plan and to make appropriate adjustments as necessary.

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $100,000.00/Yr. - USD $170,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
