Overview

East West Markets (“EWM”), a FINRA-regulated, SEC-registered broker dealer and wholly owned subsidiary of East West Bancorp (“EWBC”), is responsible for managing the capital markets activity of all EWM clients seeking to issue securities including fixed income securities.

We are seeking a seasoned and entrepreneurial Senior Securitization Banker to originate and execute structured finance transactions across a variety of asset classes, with a focus on esoteric and emerging sectors. This individual will work directly with issuers, institutional investors, and internal teams to structure, price, and distribute asset-backed transactions. The ideal candidate combines strong structuring skills with client-facing experience and is energized by the opportunity to shape a growing securitization platform.

Responsibilities

  • Originate, structure, and execute asset-backed securitizations and other structured finance transactions generating fee and interest income.
  • Lead the transaction process from pitch through closing, including structuring analysis, documentation, modeling, and investor marketing.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships with existing and potential issuers including specialty finance companies and other emerging originators.
  • Work directly with issuers to understand capital needs and deliver tailored, marketable financing solutions.
  • Interface with rating agencies, legal counsel, trustees, servicers, and other third parties throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, credit, and compliance teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Produce complex financial cashflow models and presentation materials to facilitate transaction ratings.
  • Stay current on market developments, regulatory changes, and investor appetite across ABS and structured credit markets.
  • Act as a senior leader and culture carrier—mentor junior team members and contribute to firm growth initiatives.
  • Support broader EWM team to develop issuance recommendations and craft presentations for senior management, rating agencies, and investors. 
  • Operate under a strong governance framework to ensure compliance with regulations and within EWM’s risk appetite framework.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in securitization, structured credit, or ABS banking.
  • Demonstrated success leading the execution of structured finance transactions from origination through closing.
  • Deep understanding of ABS deals structures, credit analysis, legal documentation, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience across a range of asset types; comfort working with novel or esoteric collateral is a strong plus.
  • Strong modeling skills and familiarity with rating agencies and investor methodologies.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 required; Series 79 and Series 24 are a plus. Candidates without active licenses will be expected to obtain them promptly.

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $150,000.00/Yr. - USD $250,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
