Overview

A strong tax manager to prepare federal and state income tax workpapers, tax provisions, and special projects for the department as needed

Responsibilities

  • Review federal consolidated income tax return and state corporate or franchise tax returns
  • Responsible for federal and state quarterly estimate taxes & extensions
  • Prepare monthly tax provisions calculation
  • Prepare responses and documentation to IRS and states income tax audits and notices
  • Possess strong spreadsheet skills and the ability to prepare accurate workpapers with supporting documentation
  • Perform tax research and follow up on outstanding items to meet multiple internal and external deadlines
  • Working knowledge of tax accounting rules, Internal Revenue Code, state tax nexus, state filing methods, apportionment, and state tax adjustments
  • Plan, coordinate and lead special projects for the department

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (accounting preferred)
  • CPA license preferred
  • 5 years tax experience in public accounting firm with experience in federal and multi-state corporate returns
  • Strong analytical, technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work well independently as well as in a team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in successful completion
  • Banking or financial institution experience a plus
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and concepts
  • Knowledge & comfort in use of systems (PeopleSoft)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel & Word

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $120,000.00/Yr. - USD $160,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
