Overview

The East West Bank Commercial Transaction Banking Summer Analyst Program is dedicated to developing future banking professionals. The program is designed to give hands-on experience across all stages of commercial lending transactions from structuring, screening, underwriting, and closing. Analysts will have exposure to credit department and client segment teams through a variety of assigned projects and studies. During your time in the program, analysts will develop the necessary analytical and interpersonal skills required to be an effective banking professional while building relationships with their peers and East West management team. Successful completion of the East West Summer Analyst Program may lead to a full-time offer post-graduation.

 

Exposure To Multiple Client Segments: Commercial and Industrial; Real Estate; Energy (Oil & Gas); Healthcare; Project Finance

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all stages of commercial lending transactions from screening and structuring to  underwriting and closing
  • Analyze and spread financial statements
  • Conduct industry analysis
  • Support Relationship Manager / Portfolio Manager in evaluation of financial projection model
  • Learn basic fundamentals of credit analysis and underwriting
  • Assist with portfolio management and loan monitoring
  • Other projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a four-year undergraduate program majoring in finance, economics, or accounting
  • Minimum 3.5 GPA
  • Detail oriented and intellectually curious
  • Highly motivated and strong work ethic
  • Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting & finance principles
  • Strong quantitative and critical thinking abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and desire to work on teams

Employment Dates:

  • Start date: June 2, 2025
  • 8 weeks minimum through July 25, 2025 with the option of working 2 additional weeks
  • 8am – 5pm each day with the option of coming in earlier and staying later depending on workload and special projects that allow.

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $20.00/Hr. - USD $25.00/Hr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
