Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Treasury team as a Liquidity Manager. The Treasury Liquidity Manager will play a pivotal role in evolving our liquidity management strategies to meet the regulatory requirements and support the strategic growth. This position offers an exciting opportunity to drive innovation, enhance risk management practices, and contribute to the overall success of East West Bank.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the improvement and strategic optimization of loan collateral pledged to Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco and Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
  • Improve pricing framework for wholesale deposits to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
  • Develop and implement robust liquidity management strategies and operational readiness to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for a large bank, including FR 2052a reporting, liquidity coverage ratio (LCR), and net stable funding ratio (NSFR).
  • Lead the analysis and assessment of liquidity risk metrics, trends, and exposures to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Accounting, Financial Reporting and Enterprise Risk Management, to align liquidity management initiatives with organizational objectives and regulatory expectations.
  • Enhance liquidity forecasting capabilities to improve the accuracy and enhance the utilization of liquidity forecast as pivotal inputs for balance sheet management.
  • Monitor and analyze market conditions, economic indicators, and industry trends to anticipate liquidity challenges and opportunities.
  • Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to senior management on liquidity risk management, balance sheet optimization, and funding strategies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies, auditors, and industry peers to stay abreast of evolving regulatory requirements and best practices in liquidity management.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of liquidity management systems, processes, and controls to ensure accuracy, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Strengthen communication with the strategic deposits working group to foster collaboration and alignment in objectives.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and excellence within the Treasury function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, CFA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in treasury management, liquidity risk management, or financial planning and analysis within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to liquidity risk management, including Basel III, Dodd-Frank Act, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing liquidity management strategies that align with regulatory expectations and business objectives.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and stress testing methodologies.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive change, and foster a culture of innovation and accountability.

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $148,000.00/Yr. - USD $192,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
