Overview

East West Bank is seeking a Senior Retail Foreign Exchange Analyst. The Retail FX Analyst will report directly to the FVP-Retail FX Manager. This role will play an essential role in supporting and growing the foreign exchange business within the Retail bank. In this sales-focused position, the Senior FX Analyst will be expected to manage the bank’s portfolio of FX clients within Retail banking, play a critical role in marketing & business development efforts, provide world-class service to external & internal customers, and contribute to the overall sales cycle.

 

The position is within the FX Department based in Pasadena, CA. The Senior FX analyst will help support all Retail Branches and Retail Loan teams. Periodic travel for business development and training will be required.

Responsibilities

This role will play an essential role in supporting and growing the foreign exchange business within the Retail bank

In this sales-focused position, the Senior FX Analyst will be expected to manage the bank’s portfolio of FX clients within Retail banking, play a critical role in marketing & business development efforts, provide world-class service to external & internal customers, and contribute to the overall sales cycle.

  • Develop new business internally with Branch Managers and relationship bankers throughout the
  • Retail Banking network through regular portfolio reviews, one-on-one and group FX training.
  • Establish strong partnerships with various product groups (Wealth Management, Private Banking,
  • Treasury Management, and Digital Banking) in order to enhance collaboration, FX product
  • awareness, opportunities, and fee income growth.
  • Assist with Day-To-Day Operations, including but not limited to foreign currency deposits, answering questions regarding FX products & rates, international payment needs, client relationship management (phone & in-person), generating sales reports & analytics, playing an essential role in maintenance & support of ongoing initiatives.
  • Managing portfolio of existing FX clients; sales outreach efforts; creating client pitch book; business development & growth initiatives which include product training, sales presentations, and marketing events.
  • Performs other sales-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of accounting and financial statements with in-depth knowledge of various FX products in order to recommend appropriate hedging strategies to clients.
  • Significant experiencein sales and business development with proven track record in servicing Consumer & Business Banking clients
  • Strong understanding of international banking, markets, industry practices, and market trends.
  • Must have experience with servicing clients, managing a portfolio, maintaining client relationships (internal and external), and ensuring a high level of client service.
  • Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word/PowerPoint
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel including pivot tables & macros highly desired
  • Previous banking experience preferred
  • Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) and/or Cantonese preferred

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $32.00/Hr. - USD $38.00/Hr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
