Overview

East West Bank is seeking a Specialty Deposit Officer. The Specialty Deposit Officer for the SE Region will be responsible for all phases of client management and business development of a public sector and nonprofit deposit portfolio. They will provide extensive deposit banking services and deposit banking investments to the public and nonprofit sector.

Responsibilities

  • Develop deposit relationships with public sector and nonprofit entities
  • Identify and analyze potential deposit markets to develop
  • Extensive relationship management and business development
  • Manage and maintain, as a single point of contact, new and existing customer relationships including client onboarding, KYC risk assessment and internal reviews
  • Provide weekly excel portfolio management to Team Lead and other reporting as directed
  • Measure performance on annual average net deposit growth, revenue, and cost of funds
  • Issue and manage deposit collateral requirements
  • Perform documented annual audit accounts confirmations
  • Ongoing study of municipal and nonprofit banking laws and legislative updates
  • Negotiate approved deposit conditions with any governing board/department, overseeing the fiscal responsibilities of the public or nonprofit entity
  • Negotiate Request for Banking Proposal’s (RFP’s) and Request for Banking Qualification’s (RFQ’s)
  • Acquire qualified referrals from existing clients
  • Cross sell Bank products and services
  • Analyze financial statements including fiscal budgets, special legislation tax issues, project cash flow projections, draw down schedules, RFP’s, investment bids, and RFQ’s
  • Build successful relationships with retail banking partners, public sector advisory firms, government focused support organizations, nonprofit entities and community leaders
  • Participate in East West Bank’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and other planned regional functions
  • Create market branding
  • Manage participation of attendance at conferences and any sponsorship function/event
  • Present educational seminars specific to public industry knowledge and best practices - public speaking and public presentation skills required for this role
  • Recommend and implement appropriate changes to establish policies and procedures
  • Manage support staff, if applicable
  • Manage interdepartmental process and communications as directed
  • Administer the day-to-day operation as directed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of public sector banking experience (preferred)
  • 5+ years of direct portfolio management experience (preferred)
  • Proven sales track record and strong negotiation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in banking, finance, or another related field
  • Strong Finance background
  • Strong knowledge base in Banking, Treasury and Economic Outlook
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Efficient, self-motivated and hard working
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team, while handling multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously
  • Proven sales track record and strong negotiation skills

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $65,000.00/Yr. - USD $95,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
