Overview

The International Operations Supervisor is responsible for the day to day supervision within the International Operations Team.  Direct supervision and processing include but are not limited to: Documentary Import Letters of Credit, Export Letters of Credit and Financing, Import and Export Documentary Collections, Supply Chain Financing, SBLC, etc. Responsibilities also include the oversight of all applicable compliance relative to Trade Operations and products.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the direct supervision of the International Operations team including, but not limited to interviewing candidates, coaching, training, setting performance requirements and goals, developing and delivering scorecards & metrics, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Direct and assign trade operations activities to team members in order to meet established goals, customer Service Level Agreements, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist trade operations staff to service customers by the development of clear processing procedures and job aids; conducting necessary training on trade finance products and processes; performing research to resolve complex issues ensuring timely updates are provided.
  • Support trade operations staff by verifying and drafting complex Documentary Letter of Credit and Standby Letters of Credit. Ensure the team is adherence to laws, regulations, policies and procedures to protect the asset quality of the organization.
  • Provide advice and direction on operational aspects of trade finance not only to the team but to branches and internal departments. Resolve complex and escalated issues referred over by staff and other areas of the bank regarding trade finance services. Manage the International Operations team to ensure excellent customer service while maintaining quality control of products and services.
  • Support the implementation of new products to maintain competitiveness in the Trade Finance industry.
  • Ensure Risk Mitigation in the processing of Trade Activities and implement necessary changes within the Trade Operation Unit to comply with any new or changed laws, such as BSA, OFACT, AML, and all other applicable laws.
  • Continually look to identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department. Manage the implementation of viable improvements.
  • Exercise the usual authority of a manager concerning performance improvement plans and reviews, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations. Coach, train and motivate staff to maximize their potential.
  • Back up other supervisors to verify Collections, Import, Standby and Export LC transactions, as necessary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (Preferred)
  • CDCS certified is preferred.
  • 5 + years of professional trade experience
  • 2+ years of management skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Chinese (Mandarin). (Preferred)
  • Solid background in uniform customs and practice code, as well as the Bank’s international banking services and policies.
  • Thorough knowledge on UCP, ISP, URC and URR.
  • Knowledge on U.S. government regulations including but not limited to BSA, OFAC, anti-boycott, Suspicious Activity and Sanction countries
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with focus on quality and integrity.
  • Strong oral and written communication with effective interpersonal and relationship management skills to engage individuals at all levels in the organization.

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $80,000.00/Yr. - USD $98,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
